The beauty of the 1000 Islands attracts visitors from around the world. We also have a rich and colorful history which we are proud to be part of. The St. Lawrence River communities celebrate that history with festivals and special events and there is much more. Local theatre, music and world class entertainment can all be found up and down the St. Lawrence River. Nature lovers and sports enthusiast have the best in nature centers, hiking trails and cycling to say nothing of our boating and fishing.

Alexandria Bay is located on the St. Lawrence River in the heart of the 1000 Islands. We are about 1.5 hours from Syracuse and Ottawa and just over 3 hours from Toronto, Montreal and Rochester.

Located next to the majestic St. Lawrence River, the Captain Visger House Bed and Breakfast graciously overlooks downtown Alexandria Bay, New York. Built in 1856 in the Victorian Italianate style, our newly restored Bed and Breakfast is filled with history, charm and romance. 3 beautifully decorated rooms offer guests luxurious comfort, privacy, and 5 star amenities, all in a great location. The House is a short walk to the Scenic View Park where guests cross over the bridge to Casino Island finding the perfect spot to watch the river while taking in the breath taking beauty of Boldt Castle Our porch and patio offer a relaxing place to take in the sights and sounds of downtown Alexandria Bay before heading off for a fun evening in one of the many beautiful communities along the River.
